    SVCD and Macrovision

    Hi

Does anyone knows if the SVCD format uses the Macrovision protection?? I want to transfer some of my animations from SVCD to tape and I'll buy a DVD player that can play the disc (Phillips DVD-703) but I'm not sure if it will let me copy them to tape. has anyone actually copied a SVCD to tape using a standalone DVD player? Erything points towards "no Macrovision protection on a SVCD" but I have to be sure before going to buy the player.

    Greetings

hmmm...as far as I can tell I don't think that SVCDs have Macrovision protection; but to buy a DVD player on whether it can copy an SVCD to tape or not is not a very good idea to be honest. If you're going to be buying a DVD player its a good idea to buy one because you want to watch DVD's (which is a good idea). Whats the point in going out, and spending all that money so that at you can copy an SVCD to tape and that's it?
