How Do I Rip from VCD's?

I have all of these movies on my computer, they are starting to take up all of the hard drive space. Half of them I already burned, but I dont want to delete them off of my computer in case someone else wants them? Is there any way that I can rip movies from the already made VCD's? Please I need help fast!

Load the .AVSEQ01.dat file into TMPGEnc as follows:

File>>MPEGTools>>Merge&Cut

Set mode to MPEG1 (NOT MPEG1-VideoCD)

Enter a new filename in the "Output" box

Click the "Run" radio button

i guess i have been doing it the hard way..using vcd gear gui to convert the AVSEQ01 file into mpeg.
setarip:essentially that is exactly what is being done with the tmpg way correct?
and why choose only mpeg 1 and not mpeg1vcd?

Because the desired output format is "plain vanilla" MPEG1...

What do you mean by , "it won't do it"? Are you seeing an error message? If so, what does it say?

You referred to the files as being VCDs - are you sure that their not SVCDs? If they are, simply change the mode to MPEG2 (NOT MPEG2-SuperVideoCD)

It tells me that "File Cannot Be Created"

It is VCD 2.0

Sounds like you've either forgotten to enter a new filename in the "Output" box or entered an invalid filename...

I did enter a filename and I used the file that you said to use? I am sorry that I cant get it figured out? But your help has been appreciated! Please keep helping if you wanna?
