Need help with divx 2 (x)(s)vcd

I have encoded many movies with gr8 results but when i am working with divx i always seem to get blocky results (queen of the damned, ali, and now resident evil ). Ive tried making xvcd with bitrate at 4500, tried making standard svcd, but all yield the same result as the vcd.Does this have anything to do with the avi compression or is there another step that i should take before encoding the movie? Help Please

Divx 5.0 is incompatible with TMPGEnc, if you have the codec uninstall it.

You may want to check the quantizer matrix tab (adjust quality, increase AFW compatibility header, and select "soften block noise") visit vcdhelp.com for further details.
