How do I go from Ulead Studio *.VSP file to VCD?

    Hello.

I've captured some video from my Sony digital camera using a firewire card. Looks great in ULead Studio (v5.0).

However, when I create the VCD files they look awful.

Can someone point me to some instructions on what steps to take once I have the VCD file? I'm using Nero (v 5.5.5.6).

Also, right now I don't have a DVD burner but I'm saving up. Until I get one I'm going to create VCDs and SVCDs. When I do get the DVD burner, though, I want to create the videos as DVDs. What's the best way to retain the video on my hard drive until I get the DVD burner?

    Thanks!

I don't have VS5 but its supposed to do the trick for you isn't it?

One alternative you have is to simply create a movie to send back to camera (AVI).

Get TmpgEnc (a freeware product that's damn good and whose address you can find by searching this forum) Open TmpgEnc and then load your video file and use the templates within the program to create either vcd or svcd. I suggest high quality, which is really slow but damn good. Run it and go to bed or off to do something.

Hope you have a lot of disk space or can save money quickly towards that DVD.

    Good Luck

Oh, yea... When you wake up, use Nero to burn your mpg files to VCD or SVCD.

Also, I haven't bothered with anything other than SVCD for my Sony footage. It is impressive! I use the thumbnail menu option in Nero (see my post to follow) and the presentation is awesome.
Its perfect for home productions because it offers a simple selection of choices which my audiences enjoy.

I mention this because you can be patient. Dvd will not be a whole lot different than SVCD. BTW, just save all of your video on your TAPE until you're ready to dive into DVD production.

          One Question

If he saves all his files as .avi fiels, wont that take up a whole lot of space. Maybe over 100 Mb's per minute?

          Just Curious..

          Thanx.
