    No Sound on Playback

I`m new here, this is my prob!
Every time i encode a AVI movie to MPG using using TMPGEnc. i end up with no sound at all, both on my pc and stand alone dvd player. I`ve tried every setting possible with no luck.
But it works with a small AVI video file that you normally receive via Emails that are only about 1 mg in size?

OK. This is probably a DivX compressed AVI wity MP3 sound, right? TmpEnc have a problem with MP3, at least if it is VBR. But this is what you can do:

    1. Use GraphEdit or VirtualDub to extract the sound from the AVI and save it as uncompressed WAV.

    2. Start TmpEnc. Load the AVI as Video-source and the WAV as the Audio-source. Load the template you want to use and press start.

This, of course, requires some diskspace. The WAV will be slightly over 1Gb. depending on your movies length...

    Hope this will help you.

PS: If you had searched this forum you would have found the answer

It's easier to use AVI Audio Decompress that comes with AVI2VCD.
