For instance I have captured a video of 93 minutes in mpg format. I should be able to use Tmpgenc to chop it in small chapters. The problem is I'd like to save the whole movie but the file size is too large. Therefore I used virtualdub to compress the file to avi. However, when I burn the CD, Nero tells me that it doesn't support AVI, I need to convert the file to MPG again. So I went back to Tmpgenc and convert the file to MPG. The problem is the file got back to the original size! How may I work around this?
The AVI was about 460 M but the MPG was 860 M!
Also, why is that when I cut the original captured MPG using Tmpgenc, the end result file has no sound? That's why I went to virtualdub in the first place. If I can work around that, then I save a big step and lots of time.
Thanks!!
Michael
