    M2Vs WITH audio

I've serached high and low and everything I read says M2Vs are video only...well I happen to have some (and more are popping up on newsgroups especially alt.binaries.mpeg.vides) that are both audio and video.

My question is, how/what do I need to do to make a VCD with these? I tried Nero this morning w/the MPEG2 codec and told it to convert to Mpeg1 and I get great video but no audio.

I had the option to not convert it, does that work?

The fact that somebody decided to add an extender of ".M2V" to a file does not make it a true .M2V file - which IS only a videostream (in MPEG2 format). You could add an extender of ".M2V" to a text file, but that wouldn't make it a true .M2V file...

You have probably downloaded an MPEG2-SuperVideoCD ("SVCD"), which NERO is letting you know doesn't need to be converted...

      Ok...

I tried just buring them w/Nero and no conversion and I get no video and no audio when played in WinDVD.

I have tried various methods I've seen in guides for TMPegEnc and DVD2AVI. Nothing really helps. Usually get video no audio.

      Anyone have any ideas?

Here is info on the files..

System: P4-1.8 ghz, Intel 845 chipset 768 MB RAM
      OS: Windows XP Pro
      Video Encoder: TMPGEnc 2.53
Audio Feed: Digital optical cable to Digit-Link adapter
      Audio Encoder: SCMPX
      Video: 480x480 29.97fps 2520 kbps Mpeg-2 video

        Well I'm an idiot.

I was trying to burn it as a regular VCD, not a Super.
        Duh...
