DivX 2 SVCD prob: Crash in CCE

I'm in the middle of converting my DivX anime collection to SVCD/CVD but stumbled onto a problem. I tried to convert one file using CCE but it kept on crashing with and sometimes, without any error message. Usually the error was in the vein of it not being able to close the file. the errors usually happen at the end of each pass!1
I just discovered that the file in question was A divx 3.11 low motion file, while the previous files i did where all done with DivX502pro. I only found that out, because loading the AVS file into Vdub for extracting the audio led to an error, stating that the Unfilter filter only worked in Yuy2 colorspace, prompting me to check on the properties of the file. My question is, is ther an connection between The codec used and CCE crashing on me and if so, if there is an solution for it, without me having to convert the file to another DivX version??

If you haven't already done so, install the DivX v.3.11alpha codec on your system...

Have you made a video information file (.vaf) in advance before you start multipass VBR encoding?

Doesn't matter if i do a 1 pass VBR or a multiple, the problem occurs with both of the and only if the input file is a DivX 3.11 file!!
