CDi Mpeg file?
I have an old CDi game (Brain Dead 13) that I've been trying to rip to my hard drive, but so far have been unsuccessful.
The game was formatted for a CDi system so its not a standard VCD, even though the file is in VCD mpeg1 format. In order to read the files I need to use IsoBuster. I can extract the file and to a very small extent, its playable for a couple of seconds, but then the video seems to freeze while the audio plays on and then it ends prematurely or the video races through. Either way, its not playable or editable.
The game was made in the classic Dragons Lair fashion, so basically your watching a cartoon and it jumps from one section of the mpeg file to another. I know that the CDi method of encoding mpeg files allowed "markers" and other information to be placed in the mpeg files to allow the player to jump from one scene to the next without having seperate files, kinda like DVD and its chapters. I think whats screwing up the resulting mpeg file its all this extra information enbeded within.
