DVD to VCD conversion trouble

When converting files to the VCD format about 20 minutes into the film it freezes and stays frozen until the end of the file. What could be causing it? Also, is it supposed to take 2-3 hours to encode? thanks for your help

If you want a (possibly) meaningful response, it would be most beneficial if you posted information such as what software and method you use to rip the DVDs and what software and methods you use to convert to VCD...

i am using SmartRipper to rip and FlaskMPEG to encode. thankyou

Try DVDx instead of Flask to encode to VCD. Or use DVD2AVI to frameserve to TMPGEnc (don't forget the VFAPI Plugin). Gives you the best results.
