    Splitting one big MPEG-file into two smaller and make two VCDs. How....

    Hello

    I just tried TMPGEnc trialversion and made a MPEG-file whicha gain should be burned to VCD with the latest Nero-program.

    But, the file is app 1000 Mbyte which means I need two CDs.

    I splitted the file with the MPEG-tools in TMPGnc and they both works fine at the computer.

    The first of the files works fine at my DVD-player
    BUT when I burn the second MPEG-file (to VCD-format) my DVD-player tells me he can play this CD.

    Why?

    Or better, how do I split a big file into two (or more) files to make them fit into 700Mb/ 80 min CDs?

    Thanks in advance

    I prefer spliting the avi file with Virtualdub before encoding with TMPGEnc.

    Cutting with TMPGenc sometimes occurs pb.

    If your movie is not too long, you can also try TMPenc "pro" and encoding in 2 pass with VBR. The final file will be abble to be 800 Mo.

    If you are encoding directly from the DVD, try DVDx. In output setting at "volume don't exceed" try 80' for 700 Mo Cdr.

        Virtualdub is freeware. You can download it at http://www.virtualdub.org/download

        You can only split avi files (and perhaps MPG 1).

        For using TMPEnc pro for encoding a MPEG in a single CD, I said that the movie can be 2 hour but in fazct, the maximum for 1 Cd is 80'.

          but... why???
          i don´t understand why you prefer it!

          if you encode it into mpeg-1/2 and then splitt it with e.g. dvtools or bbmpeg u will have files with 79x MB and you can be shure that you put as much on a cd as possible...

          if you splitt it first and then encode it you might make a too large file or you are making verry small files an make 3cd´s if 2cd would be ok too!

              The 2 hours of Video on a cd with TMPGEnc is in Mpeg form not Vcd. Thats how it works.

                @the sorcerer.

                I prefer cutting AVI File before encoding beacause of few pb when I Cutting directly wuth TMPGEnc. Like sound pb in the second VCD or SVCD for instance.

                I know it's not rational but I think it's more secure.

                Excuse my english.

                  @Deus.

                  No, no, it's realy a SVCD. I encode it with TMPEnc pro 2 pass VBR and then I burn it with VCDEasy
