I'm a pretty big anime fan and I'm through with VCDs now that I have a DVD burner. However, I don't really want to just do a direct DVD copy of anime sets that can be as large as 8 discs. DVD+Rs aren't that cheap yet. =/
What I'd really like to do is fit as many episodes as possible onto one DVD without having them all macroblocky and VHS-like. I figure I can still make an MPEG as large as 475 megs and still fit 26 episodes on three discs, right? I want to get as close to DVD quality as possible while cutting down on the size.
At the very least, I don't want any blocks popping up or any of the other blurring associated with a bad mpeg.
Any encoding tips?
