    Need Help With SVCD and AC3 PLEASE

    Hi i want to convert an AVI file which has AC£ into a SVCD but keep the AC£ sound so that when played on my standalone DVD i have surround sound is this possible and if so how do i extract the AC£ and what do i use to encode the video and audio back togethr to make the SVCD

    Ok i managed to get the AC3 from the AVi so can someone give me some direction so i can encode the SVCD with the AC3 audio please

      Although an SVCD with .AC3 audio WILL play on your PC, it will play SILENTLY on a standalone player...

        My standalone player supports 5.1 so i presume it would play using the 5.1 channels

          You may presume all you want, but a standalone DVD player will not recognize an AC3 audiostream AS PART OF AN SVCD (despite the fact that it will gladly recognize an AC3 stream as part of a DVD)...

            so it would be best to just extract the audio as stereo wav and re-encode from that
