DivX=>(S)VCD problem

I might be seen as really stupid posting this, but...

I'm trying to make an (S)VCD from some DivX AVI's that I have, but using Nero to do this results in greatly reduced quality, no matter how much I tweak the settings. I'm assuming Nero's encoder isn't very good for DivX, any ideas about what can I use to keep the quality similar to the original DivX files?

try converting the DIVX directly in TMPGEnc. If the audio wont load, make sure you have all the divx codecs installed. If the audio still wont load, convert it the audio by using virtualdub. I use this and I convert divx files quite often and I get excelelnt results...
