    No sound on vcd

I downloaded a movie in .avi format. I encoded it with Tmpenc it worked and everything but there was one problem. I burned it to a cdr using nero and it was successful. The problem....when I went to play it on my dvd player there was no sound. Is there something that I did wrong? Thanks for your help.

The .AVI movie you downloaded probably included an .AC3 audiostream, which TMPGEnc won't process...

**IMPORTANT - VirtualDub v.1.4AC3 is a specific MODIFIED version of VirtualDub!

Load the .AVI file into VirtualDub v1.4C-AC3, set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying" and select (under "File") "Save .WAV/.AC3" - and save as .AC3 (IMPERATIVE to save as .AC3!).

Despite the fact that .AC3 file extracted using VDub-AC3 doesn't play properly, PX3AC3Converter will do a perfect job of converting it to .WAV format.

You can then load your original .AVI and the .WAV audio file into TMPGEnc...

I got the file to extract with virtual dub but it was only 46 minutes long instead of 106. This may be what you are talking about when you said that it would work. I then tried using the px3ac3converter and when i selected the ac3 and then clicked on the ... by select wav file. I created a filename. Then I chose to start converting and it gave me a program error message and shutdown the prog. Any suggestions. I am running win2k. Thanks
