no preview screen

i downloaded tmpgenc and went to encode a movie i downloaded from kazaa i went threw the setup and everything went ok i went to burn it to vcd on nero and it seemed to go alright i went to play it on my dvd player and on the tv screen all i got was a picture saying nero and the title to the movie. thats it what did i do wrong and second i went to encode another movie and went threw the same setup i went before and the preview screen is black wqhat should i do i went into envir. settings and hit plugins and made my direct movie my #1 priorty and uped the setting to 2 and still no preview screen help
