    TMPGEnc Uncompressed AVI to (S)VCD

I have ripped a movie, well half of one, using FlaskMpeg. I used the 'Full Frames Uncompressed' type. I still re-sized the movie to SVCD 480x576 25fps. It only runs for about 55 minutes.

I used the wizard to encode, lower the bit rate to 1,555 kbps so it'll all fit on one 80cd.

The problem is, it will encode ok for 10 minutes gets the first 2 minutes of the movie perfect, while the 'remaining time' indicator at the top stays at about 2 hours remaining, which I assume is normal. Then the preview screen goes black after about 15 minutes of encoding and then the remaining time drops to 30 minutes and produces utter garbage.

So, do I have a file format problem? Or size problem? (no connotations please )

***I notice also when it "Judges Feild Order" window it sticks on 8% for a while, then dosen't even show 100%. Dunno if that'll help.

Does the "Full frames uncompressed" .AVI play properly?

Or, perhaps, have you run into Flask's 300,000 frames limit, or "standard" .AVI 2Gig size limit?

Not in anything I have. DivX player, WMP 6.4 or WMP 7.x

Most likely. I'll try it again this time, compressed with AngelPotion.

        "compressed with AngelPotion."

I'd strongly advise that you use either DivX 3.11, 4.xx, or 5.xx, instead of the problematic Angel Potion- modified codec...

Angel potion worked, but I'll try 4.11 as you suggest. I'm not worried about how big it is, unless it's over 2gb or how long it'll take to encode.

I read that using 2 passes is the best. There are 2 kinds of 2passes listed '2-pass,first pass' and '2-pass,second pass'. Same with performance quality. Is 'fastest' better than 'slowest' ? Same with default processing level, which has no values only a slider.

Also abit off topic, but in flask there is an option for 'Deinterlace output' with a threshold value. Is a higher value more appropriate for great quality?

Cheers and thanks for your time.

I have found good success using a value of 20...

Does a higher value of threshold incur a bigger file size?
