I have completed ripping a dvd into my system and it produced a 1.38 GB .mpg file. I played the file and it started lagging about 40 seconds into the movie. So I do the usual and split the file into two parts. Part one is completed and I play it and it still lags. Whats up with that? is it going to lag when I put it into a cd for my dvd player?

How long does a regular encoding take? about 5-6hours?
