    Fixing out of sync audio........

I know you can adjust the audio in a mpeg by delaying or speeding it up to make it in sync with the lips of the person talking, but could you please get me started.

If you could right down a generalization of fixing it, ya know like step1,step2, etc. I catch on very quick and it usually only takes me 1 time to get the hang of it, (I write every little thing down).

I have 3 movies that are excellent video quality and they play fine as an avi, but when I convert them to mpeg, it goes FUBAR!

If you are using TMPGEnc, click on the "Advanced" tab, put a checkmark next to "Source range" and doubleclick on the words "Source range". When the adjustment window appears, you'll see an audio delay adjustment box at the bottom. Simply enter an appropriate number (positive or negative, as needed) of milleseconds...

am I suppose to convert it, then load the mpeg file in to sync the audio, or do it straight from the avi, the orginal avi plays great!

Did you remember to put a checkmark next to "Source range"?

Try increments of 500 milleseconds (equals 1/2 second)...

I did it! Only thing is I didnt mess with the scource range, I sped up the fps from 23 to 25.

ok I dont know if this we will work for everyone but, figured I would tell you how I got it to work, ( for some find it to hard to mess with source range, etc).

First I convert the avi file to mpeg using TMPGEnc.

After I convert it, the mpeg file has no sound, so I load the mpeg file in to virtualdub and save the audio as a wav file,

                        Start TMPGEnc again,

then load the mpeg file in to the video button,

and the wav file I produced with virtualdub in to the audio button

(you kinda have to mess around with the frame rate to find out which speed works) I personally change all of mine to 25 fps, and I have made 2 great vcd's with the audio and video in sync with each other
