    m2v to vcd

I have these files with extension m2v The guy I got it from says it should play in PowerDVD but it doesn't. I have no DVD in my PC and want to convert these files to VCD. BUT TmpgEnc and Virtual dub won't even recognise this m2v extension.

Any leads on how to.... would be helpfull.

    1) An extension of ".M2V" is usually indicative of a video-only stream in MPEG2 format

    2) VirtualDub cannot process MPEG2 streams (Only .AVI and MPEG1 for conversion to .AVI)

    3) What error, if any, does TMPGEnc generate when you try to load this file?

    4) Have you previously used TMPGEnc to successfully handle MPEG2 and/or MPEG2-SuperVideoCD files?

    5) Have you tried simply doubleclicking on the file (to see if it will start automatically)?

    6) Try using WinDVD to play the file

    7) Ask the "guy you got it from" to SHOW you that it does, in fact, play...
