Well, changing the bitrate will reduce the quality of the file, however if you want to keep the quality, all you have to do is cut the .mpg and put it on several cd's, or as many as you want. Open TMPGenc and close the wizard when it starts up. Then go in File->Mpeg tools->Merge&Cut and do what you have to do.

thanks for your help and all, but my video in the screen as it encodes is more square than rectangle(widescreen). in the file-preview button, the picture comes out fine without any distortions, even the window is changed. how can i fix it?
i have canged the aspect ratio, but nothing happens.

under all of your settings, the total filesize it 1.69GB!!! something is peculiar, because there is no audio, and i double checked the settings. also the video gets stuck at halfway, and nothing can take it past that... it is not good quality too, it is very grainy . but the one good thing is that the video is at the best aspect ratio.

i put the templates of kvcd succesfully in, and they considerably changed the file size from 1.69GB to 150MB(maybe a little increase in bitrate???)
also, I have a whole hour extra at the end of the movie of one frame. i must cut it with vdub to make the file even smaller.

yeah, looking at the length of the movie, 2:22 is exactly double the original length before encoding. What is up with that?

Are you sure you didnt mess around with any of the other conversion settings?

yes, i encoded twice, and the first one encoded a .m1v file, and the second encoded a .mpg. also after i looked at the.mpg on my computer, and the sound is way off near the end, but the aspect ratio is perfect. and when i put it in the standalone dvd player, it is a square, and not widescreen, and the rightside is cut off. it also plays with asynch
