    Problems converting avi to wav

I am trying to convert L.O.T.R-TTTavi to wav:

    sampling rate 48000hz
    channels 5(stereo)
    sample precision 0
    compression unknown (tag 2000)
    preload skew 2800 samples (0.58s)
    # of frames 87649
    min/ave/max/total frame times 28/2335/28000/199942k

    VD says:

The requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format. .........

It did work when I used direct stream copy, but the resulting wav was breaking up on playback. What settings/programm should I use?

    "compression unknown (tag 2000)"

This means that the audio stream is in AC3 format. Get NanDub and:

    1. Open video file
    2. Select Full Processing Mode under Audio tab
    3. Under Audio tab, go to Compression and select No Compression (PCM)
    4. Then go to File-> Save WAV and give a name to the .wav file

It still says 'ACM failed to suggest audio decompression format', then 'AVIOutputWAV: The handle is invalid'.
      Please what next?

This error happens usually when the file is corrupt at some part, did you watch the whole movie to see if there are any corrupt frames?

I watched the whole thing and saw nothing untoward.
