first off im new to this whole svcd thing but i got a bunch from a freind and im in the process of learning how to burn them. i tried the easiest was which was nero and i got it to burn ok but i couldnt pause or do anything to the video once it was in my dvd player. then i got vcdimager and im trying to make a bin file then burn it with vcdeasy but when i try to make the bin i get an error "scanning error", and im pretty sure that it isnt a problem with the mpeg cause i have about six different ones and i get the same error on all of them.anyway my basic question is just what is the easiest way to burn an svcd and have it to where i can pause it and select different chapters. there are a bunch of different smaller files along with my mpeg (something .dat and .vcd) but im not sure what do to with them. thnx for the time.

Does the SVCD you burned play properly on your PC? Are you able to pause it on your PC?
Does your dvd player (standalone) support the svcd standard? You might want to check vcdhelp.com for information on your standalone dvd player.
VCDEASY can also be used to burn svcd's. -
i may of found my problem. i think my standalone dvd player (mintek 2110) doesnt support svcds. on the site it says that it supports basic function but not like pausing or rewinding. i think im gonna try to get a firmware update or something. my question is when i use vcdeasy and i try to add the mpeg it doesnt move to the box it just stays at 1 meg i dont know how to get it in the box.Comment
