MainConcept's MPEG Encoder is a product that rivals packages that cost thousands. It has a 1:1 encoding ratio. A 90 minute movie only takes 90 minutes and the resulting quality is better than TMPGEnc or CCE. The software is professional looking, easy to use for the novice, but has hundreds of settings for the advanced user. This is truly an amazing product considering it only costs $150 but performs like a product costing thousands.

Actually, i've tested the Encoder myself, and even added it to my guide now, it does do realtime encoding, even when I did a frameserving (DVD2AVI > VFAPI > VirtualDub), and the quality was also very impressive.
Oh, and you can change resolution, it's just not on the main screen, it's in the Advanced details.Best Regards,

Unfortunatly it's not alll "that" good either! for example, it can't open D2V files, you have o use VFAPI and VirtualDub if you want to do frameserving from alll the VOB files.
When I tried to open my Superman WAV file which was 1.62gb at 48khz, the program kept crashing
So it's good, fast, very easy to use, but it's not that great yetBest Regards,

@Batman, in alot of cases I would agree with you (like LSX, errruu!) but i've tested this new Encoder from MainConcept, i've even just addded it to the guide, the quality was to me, atleast identical to TMPGEnc.Best Regards,
