TMPGEnc "Stream encoding error"

TMPGEnc is acting funny. It's been encoding from .avi perfectly and I've been able to run the .mpg files on my comp, and on vcd. but last night, all of a sudden (on a SCRYED anime file) I started getting error messages about an "illegal floating particle" and TMPGEnc stopped encoding. I tried it again, and it erred again. So I slipped in a different series, Angelic Layer, and tried encodng that for a while, but I got the same error message plus a new one: "Stream Encoding Error"

I'm suspicious that this is a fault of TMPGEnc and not the files themselves, but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Please help!
