sound again

I have got the sound but it is off. I see there is a way to adjust the sound + or - but how do you know when it is right? any tips, is this a common problem?

is the file an encoded .mpg, or an avi? or maybe a standard .mpg?

audio was originally in avi the ndecompressed and encoded to wav. video is original avi

Assuming that you are referring to adjusting audio/video synchronization under TMPGEnc, you'll have to experiment by estimating how many milleseconds (1/1000s of one second) the file is out of synch...
