all of my encoded vcd files always turn out huge. how much space should a movie take. can I reduce this w/out loosing quality w/ Tmpeg.

(Super)Video-Cd's dont have as good compression as the mpeg-4 codec and so they require more space for good quality.

If they are VCD compliant files they usually are huge. But you can safely burn 74 minutes of video on a 74 minute cd regardless of filesize. or 80 minutes on a 80 minute cd. If it's any more than that, it has to be split into two parts and then burnt. Many good guides are available.Changing the filesize gets away from vcd format and may or may not play on standalone DVD Players. You then get into what they call XVCD. Quality of course will not be as good if you drop the bitrateComment
