When I first try to use Virtualdub to trun an AVI to DIVX I can't compress the audio with MP3 I can't because it is 44,100 Hz and so I just use TMPGEnc and when I get to about 57 percent it gives me an error and says "Illegal floating decimal point calculation order." What do I do to remidy this situation, I want to turn this AVI into a VCD.

"I can't compress the audio with MP3 I can't because it is 44,100 Hz"
If you've got either the original Fraunhoefer codec or the version modified by Radium installed, VirtualDub should be making available to you (after selecting "Audio" dropdown, then selecting "Full Processing Mode", then selecting "Compression") several different MP3 44,100 options. If when you click on "MP3", the right side window is blank, simply check "Show all formats".

Ok, I fixed the audio problem and started to turn the AVI into a DIVX and when I get about 60% threw the process I get an error message. the message is "VideoSourceAVI (ICDecompress) error: unspecified error (-100)" What does this mean and how do I fix it?Comment

I tried to lower the bit rate and it gave me the same error message. Is it a problme with the File, virtual Dub or is it just a problem with the settings? I used the program to encode a other AVI but that one was only 50 mb while this one was 120 and they were the sam length.Comment

I also tried just usind TMPGEnc because I thought that the file might already be a DIVX file so i started to concert it to MPEG and when I get abou 57 percent threw it gives me an error message saying "Illegal Floating decimal point calculation order"
I really want to get rid of this problemComment

You might try downloading and using a program named DVD-Antifreeze (there are a couple of other similar ones) from the DivX Digest sister-site to this forum.
If that doesn't work, you could try using VirtualDub to locate and remove the bad frame(s) and resave your file with a new name. If you choose to do this, MAKE CERTAIN that, from the "Video" dropdown window, you change the setting to "Direct Stream Copying".
We're still looking forward to your success ;>}Comment

Hello all. In reference to that decimal point error. I've had the same problem and I think I've got your answer. Download this: http://www.divx-digest.com/software/divfix.html
It's called DivFix, and once you doctor the file in question with it, the error message should disappear. Hope it works!!!! *crosses fingers*Comment

I'm using anti freeze. I am trying to get Trigun (an anime serise) into MPEG and first I have to turn the AVIs into DIVX and the fifth episode had a problem in the first 250 frams. I try to fix it with the anti freeze and when I atemt to do it it crashes and takes the whole computer with it. What can I do to fix this. Is there a more stable program that will fix the episode in the same way?Comment
