help how to copy vcd to vhs

i need to copy a vcd and a svcd to vhs. but the film i'm trying to copy has got a protection on it, it plays fine but when records it goes all weird (macrovision???)

i know how to get the protection off dvds but never come across vcds

please help, its driving me nuts
