    encoding problems

    i get this error with vdub
    MPEG import filter: pack synchronization error...

    Any Idea any one this error is with vdub..

    and with tmpgenc *.MPG i am geting cannot open file unsupported format...
    any ideas anyone..is there a different between MPG and MPEG?

    First you must identify your MPEG video type. MPEG1 (Used by VCD) was different with MPEG2 (Used by SVCD and DVD), but both of them using same extension file .MPG !

    You can use FlaskMPEG (It can read MPEG1 and MPEG2 format).



    If it's still got error, then your MPEG files was corrupted. You can fix MPEG error header using VCDgear software.



    VirtualDUB and TMPGenc can not read MPEG2 !

      If i can see with powerdvd

      If i can see the movie with powerdvd, and is a good copy does that mean is a mpeg2? I dont have the movie with me now, so i wont be able to tell until tomorrow..but thanks

        Yap ! So it's true SVCD format/MPEG2 ! Just use FlaskMPEG (Freeware) if you want to convert MPEG2 !

        VirtualDUB definately can't read MPEG2 format.
