well, not really a problem, so much as an observation... i recently got a movie that had VERY low sound... i had my 3 Bose systems maxed out and i still had to listen carefully to hear it
Anyway, i obviously wanted to up the volume quite a bit on the file, so i opened up TmpgENC and discovered that the volume can't be adjusted without re-encoding the film... so i decided to use the "save as .wav" feature to re-encode the audio at 400% higher volume (MAX you can adjust it in that prog) and then multiplex it back in... well, that .wav can't be multiplexed back through TmpgENC, so i went into Cooledit to fix a couple other sound problems (clicks and noise and stuff) and saved it as .mp3... but then the audio was out of synch.... and then i realized that it would have to re-encode anyways to make it VCD compliant audio... BAH!!
I've since been looking around for a simple program that would edit the sound in a .mpg file without being forced to multiplex or re-encode the video stream, but with no luck... is there anything you people know of that can do this? I know VirtualDub does it, but it saves as .avi (and i've thought about doing it like that then converting it back to .mpg with AVI2VCD but i don't really trust AVI2VCD that much since it's given me a few corrupt files...)
Any ideas?
