what is the difference between pal and ntsc does one have a better quality than the other

They are two different video formats. PAL is used primarily in Europe. It displays 625 scanlines at 25 frames per second. NTSC is primarily used in the Americas. It displays 525 scanlines at24 fps, 23.976 fps, 29.97 fps, or 30 fps.
If you tried to run a PAL video on an NTSC televison, it would not display properly. If you tried to run an NTSC video on PAL television, it would not display properly.
Multisynch computer monitors can handle both formats properly. -
also if you make vcd's for your standalone..you can change a setting( or at least mine does) to use ntsc or pal. does the tv really know the difference? all i know is pal looks better because of the linescreen setarip talked about.john boy
