Hi everyone!
I have a badly scuffed vcd and following the advises that I found on the internet, I used toothpaste to try to scrub away the minor scratches. Not only did it not work but the toothpaste had corroded away the top-side silver coating (where they print the label). Now, my pc can't play it at all - the media players don't recognise the file extension (it is a music01.dat file) and when played on my DVD standalone player, the images and sound are breaking up badly in many places.
I have tried extracting the .dat file with Isobuster and then convert with VCDgear from .dat to .mpg file, after which I would de-multiplex and multiplex it with TMGen - hoping to fix the file this way but....nothing seems to work!
I hope someone can help to shed light on this. How can I repair this damaged vcd?
