File Size Question

I can use tmpge to open an avi file with ac3 audio without extracting and converting it first. My question is, when tmpge encodes the file to vcd, will the resulting file size be the same if I had extracted the ac3 audio and converted to wav it first?

Since TMPGEnc will convert theaudiostream to MPEG1-Layer2 format, regardless of its original format, the end result should, theoretically, be the same...
