    PAL or NTSC

    Hi:

Iwant to make VCD's but the programm ask me if the MPEG1 should be in Pal or NTSC. Does this make a differnce for VCD's? The Problem is, that I'm now in Germany where the traditional format is Pal, but my Family is in Southamerica where I think they use NTSC.

Can I make one VCD to watch in both countries, or is it possible to convert? I don't want to make everything twice.

    Thanks in advance

If the dvd player can play both regions, you should have no problem.
Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:

Also search on the whole Digital-Digest website:

Thanx for the reply, but I don't know if the player accept both.

Is it possible to encode a Pal MPEG1 VCD to Ntsc MPEG1?

as "gd_nimrod" said. if a DVD player will play both regions convert the vcd movie to play for that is in that region.

ie, if ur player will play both NTSC and PAL regions but the other player won't, convert them to NTSC @ 23.976fps/29fps

or if ur player won't play NTSC but the other player will play both NTSC and PAL, convert them to PAL @ 25fps only
