Can You Add a Video Intro Using DVD2SVCD?

I made a short (3.5 mb) intro that I want to add to all of my encoded videos. I converted a flash presentation to avi using swf2avi and then converted that to MPEG-2 using TMPGEnc. It is fully svcd-compliant. Is there a way to have DVD2SVCD incorporate it into my videos as part of the main video file? If not, can it be added as a separate stream when making an image file? I know I could use VCD gear to add it to an image file but, if DVD2SVCD does not know that I intend to do this, it will not compensate for the additional file size when calculating the bitrate/file size of its encoding job. Then I would end up with an oversized image file that would require overburning, which I want to avoid. Any ideas about this? Thanks.

the only way is if you extracted the MPEG file and added it to that then image it again or burn it that way

Thanks for the quick response, but don't you have to worry about file size? I am concerned that adding an additional 3.5 mb will make the image too big for an 80 min CD. Comments?

I would give it a try. and if it is maybe you can cut the credits added with a little fade out action to make it look like that was how it was supposed to be

If I use the FitOnCD plug-in, can I do anything to tweak the VBR just a bit? I usually use a 3-pass VBR and only need a few mb reduction in file size.

I am not experienced with the FitOnCD Plug in. I would make a copy of the file and try it out

Check this out! A buddy of mine figured it out. You can change the end size of the videos in DVD2SVCD to anything you want (even though it looks like the only choices are 740, 800 and 900). Therefore, all I need to do to make sure that I don't get an oversized vid is reduce the vid size to 796 instead of 800. That won't have a significant effect on the bitrate and I can add the intro with VCD Gear after the mpg files are done.

              Thanks for your help.

You can also do it with VCDeasy .... http://www.vcdeasy.org
