    1) Does the .AVI that you originally created play with audio?

    2) "i have converted other movies and they work just fine...."

Make certain that you've used all of the same settings this time, that you've successfully used previously

Well then, that doesn't leave too many other culprits - just the two software programs themselves and your hardware.

I'd suggest you try unistalling and then reinstalling DVD2SVCD and CCE...

Re: AVI to SVCD - audio problem

Have you tried to use TMPGEnc? Of course the MPEG-2 encoding is in limited trial if you use the free version, but try it and you will be fixed if it's a software problem.

Definitely start using TMPGEnc. It is, hands-down, the best VCD/SVCD decoder for home use. CCE is good, and many say that it's faster, but keep in mind that "faster = lower quality" in the video world. It isn't opinion... that's just math.

I've got some excellent TMPGEnc templates available in the DVDHelp.us download area (in the "Add-on" section of the Download Area). These are nothing like the basic "stock" templates that come with TMPGEnc, but rather they are specifically designed for individuals creating VCD/SVCD on their home computer. Use them and you will find that 99.9999% of your encoding issues will be solved.

As for your audio issue, try doing things the "hard way" to try and track down the issue.

Open your AVI in VirtualDub and extract the audio to a separate WAV file. Try using the newly-created WAV as the audio source in TMPGEnc, and be sure and use one of my templates, if only to eliminate a lot of possible "human error" issues from the equation.

(If you don't know how to use VirtualDUB for this, I have a VirtualDub tutorial dedicated to this "extract audio to a WAV" step.)

Do a test clip, and if everything works out (it should), then you'll know what the problem was. If you still have issues, then it is most likely a codec issue, and you'l have to reinstall the appropriate codec.

i extracted the audio and the video in 2 separated files,
                video : 2h:16m:58s
                audio : 2h:16m:59s
the audio has one more second than the video.

i loaded the two files in tmpgenc plus, converted to svcd but the audio dind´t match the video.
any idea to put audio whit same time as video

i used GOLDWAVE to shrink the audio, to the same time as the video, and it work´s.

but now, the BIN file that i made with VCDimager has only 1 audio stream...that´s no good because the original movie is stereo.

You SHOULD have only one audiostream for stereo. I believe you're confusing "streams" with "channels"...

the audio only plays on the left colune.

i trie a diferent way, did not make BIN file, just write the svcd file with nero express. the audio now plays in all the colunes (5.1).
