    What are the properties of your audio ?

    And how is it sampled 44.100Hz or 48.000Hz ?

    Do you use the template that comes with TMPGEnc and if so which one ?

    As you see a little bit more info is needed

      Audio: MPEG layer 3 44.100Hz.

      and i am using the VideoCD (NTSC) template

      I have also tried this same thing with the Panasonic MPEG1 encoder and i got the same results, Compressed Audio cannot be converted or missing .dll/codec. ?

        I'm puzzled why it doesn't work for you

        Normally you load your avi via browse video and the audio automatically fills in the same avi.

        Hit load --> select template --> start and everything works

        I'm assuming that you didn't forget to load the plugin that has to be installed in TMPGEnc (the one you find on the same download page as the program)

        I'm also assuming the audio is not ac3, then you will need something else then the procedure i will write below

        Extracting sound out of an avi
        video ---> direct stream
        file ---> save Wav...

        - Load this wave in Winamp
        - options ---> preferences ---> Nullsoftt diskwriter plugin [OUT_DISK.DLL]
        - configure whereto the file will be saved
        - hit play
        You will end up with a HUGE uncompressed wav file

        (There are other ways to extract the audio to uncompressed audio, but this is the one i use)
        .

        Now you can load your avi in the video browse AND the uncompressed audio in the audio browse

        This should work, because now you have uncompressed audio, but i still don't get why the "normal" way doesn't work

        Let us know how it works out
