    .vcd & .dat

    Some .jpg pictures were emailed to me. Using a tdk velocd & nero
    5.5.4.0. I made an image of these .jpg's. Then burned the image
    to a cd-r. Nero states burn process succesful. I go to look @ my
    vaca pictures and only see 4 folders that contain .DAT & .VCD files

    Why can I not see my .jpg pictures? Did I miss a step/process?
    and do I need to make an image anyway?

    I can't really see what this problem has to do with VCD/SVCD Conversion/Encoding but i will try to the best of my knowledge to give you an answer

    WHY did you make an image out of the jpg's before burning?
    You can burn them to cd-r as data and then they will show up as jpg's on your cd-r.

    Maybe you used making the vcd wizzard in Nero ?

    Or i'm missing something completely

      Without trying to understand WHY you created a VCD, that appears to be what you've done.

      Try running your Windows Media Player. While it's running, from Explorer, open the VCD, open the directory that contains the ".DAT" file. "Drag and drop" the ".DAT" file onto the player.

      Let us know of your success ;>}
