cropping 16:9 AR when using DVD2SVCD

I have recently started using DVD2SVCD along with CCE for making svcds. I have a rather small TV and would would prefer to to crop 16:9 movies, not all the way down to 4:3 but somewhere in between. Can this be achieved using DVD2SVCD and some manual tinkering?

I would also like to be able to trim credits etc that waste precious space. Is this possible in the DVD2SVCD/CCE workflow? Many thanks.
