    can't split this ONE movie

I've converted a DVD into VCD format using DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc. Now I'm trying to use the "MPEG Tools" in TMPGEnc to split the 900MB movie into to parts. I've done this successfully before for 5 movies, but for this one - I can successfully cut out the 1st half of it; but for the 2nd half, it crashes the program for the "output file" stage of the cut.
I've tried 2 versions of TMPGEnc, and it happens on both of them. I tested for another MPEG, and it worked fine.
I have 14GB free on my HDD.
    Why is this happening???

Have you tried splitting at a different point?

Have you tried saving the second part first?

      yes.

      yes.

[edit]: for some, MAGICAL reason - it worked today (day after).
Same settings, same program - but it worked!

out of curiosity. have you run divfix on it to make sure the movie is working properly. and also, if it will not split using TMPGEnc. have you tried using another like virtual dub?

VirtualDub doesn't save to MPEGs, does it?

            And what is Divfix??

"VirtualDub doesn't save to MPEGs, does it?"

Nope - it will accept MPEG-1 for input, but all output is .AVI...

well then it's useless in creating a video-cd.

"well then it's useless in creating a video-cd."

                  Obviously. So what's your point?

(You do realize that the post about VirtualDub and DivFiz was made by someone else and not me, don't you?)

My point is: my original post was (and still is) about making a video CD.
The problem has been resolved. I had a 900MB MPEG that I need to cut and the only program I knew that couldod that - TMPGEnc - crashed.
