audio problems

Please help, I am using tempeg and when i am trying to add the video and audio together and form an mpeg. The video is ahead of the audio. Is there any way i can correct this or does it have something to do with when the dvd was ripped? Because i have converted many movies and just this one is giving me problems. The video is about one sec. ahead. Any info would be much appericiated.
