ive located the cause of all my vcd problems TMPGENC. is there another program i can use, i have cce 2.5 but would need a guide on how to use it for vcd streams. i tried using cce last night and got a buffer overflow at about 14mb.

"portable player wont play tmpgenc vcd's"
How did you determine that TMPGEnc is at fault?
Do you know for a fact that your player can playback ANY burned VCDs (as opposed to commercial pressed VCDs)?
If it can playback burned VCDs, have you tried using different brands of CD-Rs? Many players are "finicky" about which brands of CD-R they'll recognize... -
Are you also sure that tmpgenc was producing a vcd-stream and not an mpeg1 stream.
When you burn it you will notice that a mpeg1 header will make the video take up much more space than is necessary on the cd-r, approx 10% more.- The question is: Why?Comment

thanks for the posts
ive tried dvd2svcd and these streams seem to work fine, with the odd momentary freeze, even on cdrw's overburnt to 82min. by the way how do i burn the .bin created by vcdimager (as vcdxbuild keeps crashing out on the xml parsing) without a .cue. ive got nero, cdrwin and clone.Intel Quad Q6600@3000

its ok found the .cue
i had the files sorted by size and completely missed the .cue file dohh!! i do have another question though why cant i create a vcd 99min's long? every time i tell dvd2svcd to use one 900mb disc for anything upto 100min it always ends up 90min long. does this mean i have to manually enter 999 on the bitrate page to get a 99min disc?Intel Quad Q6600@3000
