Tmpgenc - what does "save vbr analyzing result" do?

Hello -
Does anybody know what the option "Save analyzing results... ",
does in Tmpgenc environment/cpu.
This is the setting in 2.5.13 that supposedly saves the
results of the 1st pass vbr analysis to cache.

I've done tests with this checked and unchecked, and
I can't see any difference in the encode or reencode times.

You have to set temp folder to a HD with plenty of disc space to use this for real!

Do this from the enviroment settings.

I see big encoding time boost if I use this feature!

Hello,
you're the second person to tell me this,
but so far, I haven't seen the difference.

Where is the benefit? Is it the second pass?

within the "temp" folder, I see files with the name VBR*.*
while the encode is running.
But it does this whether the checkbox is selected or not.

There is a cache folder within the tmpgenc folders,
but nothing appears in there.
I have plenty of space.

Please advise further..

This feature only boost time on 2 Pass VBR ofcourse.
Huge difference, about 35%!

About the temp files you see, for 2 PAss VBR those files can turn real big (4GB or more!), so better set as a temp folder for TMPGenc a HD with plenty of space.
