    is it possible to convert vcd.dat to SVCD?

    Although it's possible to accomplish this, in several steps, there's really no benefit to doing so that I can think of. The quality of the video and audio will not be improved (Saving an already compressed file at a higher resolution doesn't improve the video quality) - and you'll be reducing the amount of video time you can fit one one CD.

      thx for the reply the reason i was wanting to was my dvd player wont play VCDs but will play SVCDS.

        Forgive me, but I don't believe that. It would be a "first". Perhaps you're being misled because the player recognizes only specific brands of CD-Rs. I'm aware of many DVD players that play VCDs but not SVCDs - but, to my knowledge, a =ny player that plays SVCDs will also play VCDs.

          well it will read the cds but when the movie starts you can hear sound but the picture just flickers. but svcds play fine.

            That's VERY different from, "It won't play VCDs". The VCDs must not have been burned properly - or perhaps you're using different media...
