hi, i tried using Tmpeg to encode an asf file to mpg to make an asf. The asf file is 177Mb, and when encoding i was told it would take 14 days for half a movie. I asked a few friends and was told that it would be quicker to encode the asf>avi, then the avi>mpg. I loaded virtualdub to enocde the asf to the avi and, Configured it as vcdhelp.com suggests and went to save avi, and the progress that i got was most disturbing. i took a screen grab of it and uploaded it to my site. Heres the address.
It shows that after half an hour, it managed to encode NOTHING. Is this right? seems a bit wierd to me. I know that my computer isn't the fastest in the world (Pentium 3 450 with 384MB of ram) but surely in 30 mins it could do some. any thoughts?
