ive been told to post my problems in "the right area" so im gonna go ahead and also port my issue here... i have a file yes that i downloaded... (p2p) and it was in divx/avi format (dvix) ive gone ahead and converted it to mpg (vcd) but now i have audio and video sync problems.. yes i have read and searched past issues to no avail im converting with "easyx video encoder" and i attempted as suggested to fix the issue using v-dub but the file after obly 35 minutes was 16.5 gigs i only have a 40 gig drive to begin with so i dont see that woring for me not to mention the quality really sucked. so now im still stuck with the 2 files one avi that plays fine but cannot be played on a dvd player.. and an mpg that i can play if i wanna find out what there gonna do before its said... now on the mpg it starts out fine but by the time i get the the 74-80 minute disk point it is at leats 8 sec behind in audio.. ive been told not to use this program EasyX video encoder as it really hasnt been tested enough for ppl to know what the hell im talking about and to convert with TMPEGnc but i cannot load my XVid/DVix files into it.. the Avi/Divx files that i can load do not encode properlly lets say i have a 80 minute video... when i encode with TMPEGnc i get 80 minutes of video w/o audio and then i get another 80 minutes of pure nothing just 80 minutes of black.. there isnt even any audio at all... so there is my problem im half wondering if i should just copy this and paste it in every single sopt of the forum but well see what happens i guess
yet another sync problem

Sounds like you miiiight have a variable bitrate audio problem. I seem to remember having this problem too from time to time. If I remember correctly, the way I got it to work was to use virtualdub and direct stream copy the video. Then go back to the bad file and extract the audio as a WAV file with nanDUB. Then, to make the mpeg, use TMPEG and select the single audio file and the new single video file and put them together. I believed that process worked more often then not -
posting to different threads the same issue is a violation of forum rules and the most likely effect you get is to be suspended.
here is a little on changeging VBR to CBR audio stream:
I qoute setarips post:
"Simply use NanDub (or VirtualDubMod) to save the audio stream as an Uncompressed PCM (WAV) file as follows:
Load your original .AVI into NanDub
Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copy"
Set "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode"
From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Compression" - and choose "No compression(PCM)"
From the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save WAV" (Enter a new filename with a ".WAV" extender).Click on "OK"
Then set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying"
Then save the .AVI as a silent .AVI (set "Audio" to "No audio" after you've saved the WAV file).
Then close NanDub and restart it
Set "Audio" to "No audio"
Load your silent .AVI
Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying"
Under "Audio" click on "WAV Audio" and load your .WAV
Set "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode"
From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Compression" and choose the appropriate .MP3 settings. Click on "OK"
From the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save as AVI" and save your file with a new filename." then encode it with Tmpeg
if the encoding in tmpeg stops it might be due to bad frames
in the video file.
you can either use video fixer or avi fixer to repair your videos or repair it with virtual dub using the following method.
1) Load the DivX file into the most recent version of either VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod
2) Set BOTH "Video" and "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copy"
3) Select "Check for errors"
4) Select "Mask bad frames"
5) Save with a new filename
to enable tmpeg to read your xvid file use either a frameserver
or install a filtercodec called fddshow and set it to decode xvid
in its configuration.Comment

are you saying that you Don't have an audio drop down menu?
Load your file into nandub and post the file information here (file-->file information)
then once you post that, see if this is necesary:
separate the audio from video.Comment

i cannot download nandub.. the first option file "nandub-binary-1.0rc2" is unsupported and the other "NanDub022+BRC100" me "this application has failed to start because vorbifile.dll was not found. Re-installing the applicatiion may fix this problem" and ive done that like 8x lolComment

hmm... did you download it off the nadub sourceforge server?
they have the best results...Comment

i searched the sight for it and it brought me to a "home page" which brought me to Doom9 i tryed there i tryed here and i went straight to nabdub.org and it took me to some weird search engineComment

use this link via copy and paste to your browser to get nandub
or just click on itComment

you can do it with vdub, but it has a high possibility of not working becuase TMPGenc doesn't support VBR mp3 audio.
use Vdbubmod to get the file information like I asked before.Comment
