Whats Better: internal or external Capture devices

what is better as far as speed and quality in video capture. I want to capture a lot of VHS tapes and burn to DVD. IF money is no object what is the best way to do this?

As with anything electronic/electrical, the fewer the connections/interfaces, the shorter (and the higher the quality, of course) the cables, the better the results.

Based on the above, I'd suggest you use a high quality internal videocard with "video-in" capability...

I know many people are satisfied with Pinnacle's capture cards (DC10 I believe). you may want to look into that. dvdrhelp.com and doom9.org have forum subsections dedicated to capturing issues, searching them may yield some useful information.
