    Conversion Hell!

I hav a file i recieved about a day or so ago and i havent slept or left my comp. bcuz i cannot get this file to convert and encode
    Heres the Problems:

Tmpgenc- I go to tmpgenc to cut and shorten the file to fit on cd but there is no audio file from the source so...

VirtuaDub- I go to virtua dub to solve the problem by saving a wav. file from the original avi source. of course this doesn't work becuz it says there is no compressionable audio source found, ok that doesnt work so...

Tmpgenc- i go bak to tmpgenc to and clik on environmental settings in the options tab then raise Direct show multimedia file reader to the highest priority (yippe) this works finally i hav video and audio source for encoding, but then when i go to the source range option to shorten the captured file it keeps freezing and not letting me do so, EVERY TIME, with the same repeated message at the top, Program Not Responding. obviously this has gotten quite tedious cuz u see the length of my message, i promise ill leave u all alone if u help me this one last time

this is because your audio stream shows to be an ac3 5 channel file.
as I have pointed out in another thread that you have started:

load your file into virtualdub mod

demux your audiofile by choosing -->stream-->streamlist-->demux-->"filename".ac3
use "Headac3 he" to process it to wav.....

then use your original avi to be a source for the tmpeg videosource
and the headac3 he outputfile as audiosource
