confused and need help

Please can someone help me. I'm new to all this. I've looked at all these threads and its all confusing.

I have 'avi' files,so far i have used avi2vcd and it comes out with a picture upside.
Does anyone know the best ways of sorting out avi files so they can be played on a dvd plyer, what do i do and need?

First of all the upsidedown picture can be sorted by changing your color qualty to 16bit, its proberly 32.

Then a good program to use for changing avi to an mpeg file (you need to do this so it will play on your dvd player, IF it's able to play vcd's). Try Tmpeg its free off its web site.

Also make sure you have all the codecs installed as well, it does help.

I have just started to use Nero 6 with all the extra addons, its really good, you just put a blank disc in and it does it all for you.
Get it if you can its good.

try to use k-lite codec pack and xvid codec... search it in google where to find it....
